With strong winds of up to 70 mph in exposed coastal areas, combined with heavy rain, we are expecting dangerous coastal conditions over the next few days
Wind and rain warnings are in force for Tuesday as another named storm impacts the UK.
Wirral has been warned to expect 70 mph winds and up to 80 mm of rain from Storm Francis.
Weather warnings for strong winds and heavy rain are in place from 12 am Tuesday to 6 am Tuesday.
West Kirby RNLI have warned to stay away from danger to life storm waves.
Wirral Coastguard said: “Keep back from the water, don’t take unnecessary risks and stay safe during Storm Francis – breaking waves can sweep you out to sea in an instant
“Consider postponing your plans to the coast in affected areas but if you need to go out:
“Take a fully charged phone. Tell someone where you’re going and when you’ll be back. Check local weather and tides. Avoid using coastal or cliff paths. In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard”
