Wirral Coastguard urged people to stay away from the coast to take pictures as waves can be a risk to life.

Wirral Coastguard said on Thursday “The Met Office has issued a weather warning for wind for Wirral on Friday as we expect #StormEllen Wind gusts of 45-50 mph are expected fairly widely inland with gusts of 55-60 mph possible around coasts.

“A combination of high tides, large waves and strong winds could cause wave overtopping or high water levels.Stormy weather might produce breathtaking photographs but it might be the last breath you ever take if you’re there at the wrong moment!

“Please don’t risk your life to take pictures at the coast, however dramatic it looks. We advise the public to avoid exposed coastal areas during times of severe weather”.
