Wirral swelters in hottest temperatures of the year but there’s a big change on the way


The UK saw it’s hottest day of the year on Friday as temperatures hit 37.8C at Heathrow.

Wirral saw temperatures hit 29C as clear sunny spells heated up the region.

But, there’s a big change in the weather on the way from Saturday.

Temperatures will cool down and will drop by 13C to just 16C as a cold front moves in over the country.

The Met Office said in a tweet: “Cooler air is arriving for the weekend as this cold front sweeps the UK in the next 24 hours.

“Temperatures will be back closer to average tomorrow, but it will still pretty warm in the southeast.”
