These amazing pictures show a pod of bottle nose dolphins jumping into the air off the wirral Coast.
They were spotted creating some spectacular aerial acrobatics just off the cast of Hoylake on Wednesday.
Chris Williams who took the pictures said “I first noticed a hooked dorsal fin breaking the surface followed by several others, I knew right away I wasn’t looking at porpoise and with the calm tide was able to follow two pods as they moved East.
“It wasn’t long before they appeared to be circling followed by leaps out if the water, the two pods had now joined each other.
“It was truly a fantastic experience during these difficult times.
“Please remember to check tide times and stay safe if visiting the coast!”
ONE twitter user who replied to the pictures said: “My day, wet, dog walk would be on my own, Twitter is really cheering me up this morning! Not always like that, I admit, but only seen nice things today. Maybe I should stop while I’m ahead!! Off Hoylake. Amazing”
