Wirral has been warned of flooding as up to 40mm of heavy rain is expected during Thursday.
A Met Office severe weather warning is in place from 3am-12pm on Thursday.
Flooding, longer travel times and severe surface spray on roads is expected as the heavy rain could last up to 6 hours.
The Met Office say: “An area of rain is expected to move westwards overnight giving some locally heavy rain during Thursday morning, before gradually clearing northwards.”
“Many places will see 5 to 10 mm during this period, with a few places perhaps seeing 30 to 40 mm in 3 to 6 hours which may lead to some localised disruption.
