Wirral has seen thunderstorms rattle the area over the last two days bringing torrential rain, thunder and lightning and there’s more on the way today.
Heavy rain and frequent lightning lit up Merseyside on Saturday night in a stunning light display that some facebook users described as ‘the best in years’.
Another storm hit on Sunday afternoon bringing more thunder and lightning and huge amounts of rain.
The Met Office has warned that Wirral could see more storms through Monday.
The forecaster has issued Wirral and Merseyside a yellow severe weather warning for thunderstorms which is in place from 1pm to 9pm.
Thunderstorms could bring some flooding due to heavy rain and damage to buildings from lightning strikes.
The Met Office say: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms will break out this afternoon before slowly fading this evening.
“Whilst not all places will be affected by these shower and thunderstorms, where they do occur torrential downpours are possible. 15 to 25 mm rain may fall in an hour in some places whilst a few spots could see 30 to 40 mm rain in two or three hours.
“Frequent lightning is possible and a few places may see some hail.”
