One of our readers had a sudden shock on Monday afternoon when suddenly fog appeared to descend on a Wirral beach.
Conditions had been perfectly clear on Monday afternoon as temperatures reached 18C, but that didn’t stop fog from appearing out of nowhere.
Val Murison Southwood sent video to our facebook page of fog suddenly creeping over West Kirby beach in which she described as ‘eerie’ and ‘sudden’.
Val said she “was fascinated but also it felt eerie at the same time, the view earlier was so clear as usual then this appears all of a sudden”.
The fog was sea fog that usually is caused by the movement of moist air lying over a warm landmass to a water area with a colder temperature.
