Wirral Coastguard has warned people to stay away from beaches during lockdown.

Wirral will be hotter than Greece this Sunday as warm air returns to the UK.

Temperatures will reach 18C beating Greece’s predicted temperature of 15c.

The coastguard warned that the nice weather “shouldn’t be an excuse to flock to the beach”.

Wirral Coastguard said in a facebook post: “Nice weather forecast today should not be an excuse to flock to the beach, not at the moment anyway.

“The beach will still be there when this is all over for you to enjoy!

“Emergency Services are already stretched and crowds of people heading to the beach only increases the chances of these services having to be called out, potentially exposing Coastguard Rescue Officers, Paramedics, Police Officers, Firefighters and RNLI crews to possible infection.

“They could then transfer the infection to their families.

“Just think of the impact your actions could have…. just because you wanted to build sand castles!
It’s not worth it.”
