One of the Royal Navy’s biggest ever ships arrived in Liverpool today.
The weather wasn’t the best but hundreds lined the Mersey to welcome the 65,500 tonne ship into Liverpool.
The HMS Prince of Wales docked at Liverpool cruise terminal on Friday afternoon as visitors from all over the UK watched on.
Many watched from across the Mersey too with people flocking to New Brighton and parts of Wirral’s waterfront to watch the impressive sight.
HMS Prince of Wales is one of the most powerful surface warships ever constructed in the UK and one of the largest ships ever built for the Royal Navy.
Royal navy helicopters also accompied the ship by flying around the waterfront.
