Wintry weather on the way for Wirral as region could see snow or sleet showers


After strong winds brought a windy start to the new week there could be some wintry weather arriving on Wirral.

Temperatures are set to drop to 4C and some parts of the country have been issued yellow weather warnings for snow.

Forecasters say that rain could turn into sleet or snow showers during Tuesday morning.

Although Wirral is not on a weather warning there could be snow or sleet showers falling in some areas.

Winds are set to be strong again on Tuesday and could see gusts reach 50 mph.

The Met office say: “The showery theme will continue through this evening and overnight. Showers may merge into longer spells of rain at times, with some sleet or snow.

“Feeling very cold in the wind and rain, with a risk of coastal gales.”
