Wirral will see wintry showers, strong winds rain and freezing mornings this week

Freezing fog last week

As the new week arrives the bitterly cold mornings will return, which will see some waking up to layers of Ice or frost on their cars.

Monday morning will see temperatures fall to near freezing and wintry showers could fall to lower levels at times on Tuesday.

By the end of the week winds will pick up and the weather will return to milder temperatures.

As the weather gets milder at the end of the week it will mean the return of more unsettled weather, with strong winds and heavy rain.

The Met Office say: “Monday will be a breezy day with a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers, falling as snow over higher ground and hail possible to lower levels.

“Sunny spells with blustery, possibly wintry showers on Tuesday. Drier and brighter on Wednesday with winds easing, rain arriving later. Rain Thursday morning clearing to sunny spells and showers.”

Looking towards the end of the week and into the start of February the Met Office said: “Often windy with outbreaks of rain and showers for all areas at the start of this period, with temperatures on the mild side of the seasonal average”.
