Take a trip down memory lane with the extraordinary drone footage.

This footage shows New Brighton from the air, but in a very unique way.

Kev Connolly filmed New Brighton from the air but digitally recreated New Brighton tower into the footage.

The video is in black and white to give it a more realistic tone and shows what the area would look like if the tower was still here today.

When we asked kev how he created the video he said: “I created the tower in 3d and tracked and composited onto the footage”

Many facebook users commented on the video saying how amazing it is and hope to see the old pier added to the footage.

New Brighton Tower was the tallest building in Great Britain when it opened some time between 1898 and 1900.

Demolition began in 1919 and the metal was sold to scrap dealers.

The tower was the tallest structure to be demolished in the UK until 7 September 2016, when a taller chimney at Grain Power Station was demolished.

In 1997 Wirral Council made an unsuccessful bid for Millennium funding to build a new tower in New Brighton.
