Merseyside will see another heatwave next week as warmer air from Europe arrives.
Temperatures of 25C will warm up the region through Monday, but the hottest weather will be on Tuesday.
On Tuesday the mercury will hit a sweltering 30C with sunny spells forecast all day.
Theres a risk of thundery showers during Wednesday morning, however the weather will improve with highs of 25C with the sunshine returning.
Temperatures will average around 25C through Thursday but there could be an increase in cloud in some areas.
From Friday the weather will cool down slightly into the weekend as temperatures will fall back down to the 20C mark.
Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill said: “On Tuesday the rain and strong winds in the North West will have eased and it will turn drier, elsewhere there should be lots of sunshine with highs of 33C or higher”
Mr Burkill added: “There’s a risk of some thundery showers developing through the rest of the week, there’s a bit of uncertainty.
“We could see some wet weather coming in from the west so things could turn a bit fresher, or the hot and sunny weather could continue.
“But it doesn’t look like temperatures will get much hotter than 34C.”
He added: “The hot weather could last through much of the next week and into next weekend or it could break down much earlier – there’s a lot to play for.”
