The Met Office issued Merseyside severe weather warnings for thunderstorms earlier this week.
The region has been warned to expect heavy rain and thunderstorms through Monday.
There’s chances that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
When will it thunder?
Current forecasts predict that thundery showers will arrive around midnight on Monday lasting until around 3am.
Further thundery showers could be expected through Monday from around 2pm – 7pm.
A Met Office severe yellow weather warning is in place throughout the whole of Monday.
Commenting on the potential impacts from these thunderstorms, a forecaster at the Met Office said: “With the potential for a large volume of water in a short time, there is a significant risk of flash flooding, fast flowing or deep flowing water causing danger to life and very difficult driving conditions in places.”
“As such we are urging the public to keep a close eye on our forecasts and warnings, especially on Met Office social media and video broadcasts as these will capture the latest details for your area.”
