After a week that saw some brief moments of heavy rain, thunder, lightning and sometimes warmer sunny spells, there’s some further wet weather on the way.
A lightning bolt was caught on camera striking over Liverpool on Thursday as the severe weather hit.
Some parts of South Wales saw huge rainfall amounts that lead to flooding with even reports of funnel clouds.
Current Met Office forecasts point to more severe weather on the way with heavy rain falling through the start of the week.
For the four days Merseyside will see rain which could be very heavy at times.
Parts of the East of the country have been placed on severe weather warnings as the amount of rain could lead to flooding and dangerous driving conditions.
Although Merseyside is not on a weather warning the rain could lead to some localised flooding in some areas.
The Met Office say: “After a bright start for some, cloud will thicken from the east through Monday.
“Rain, locally heavy, will affect southern areas, with showers possible further north. Feeling rather cool.
For the rest of the week the Met Office said: “Staying unsettled throughout. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely, some of which will be heavy and persistent.
“Often windy, making it feel distinctly cool.”
From Thursday the weather is expected to be drier with more brighter conditions.
