Merseyside set for a lot of rain as Storm from Spain set to drench the region

An area of low pressure will hit the UK over Friday which will bring a lot of rain to Merseyside.

Up to 60mm of rain could hit parts of the country with current forecast suggests the region could see the heaviest of the rain.

As the area of low pressure arrives with the rain there could flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder at times.

Further rain is expected through Saturday but it is not expected to be as persistent as Friday.

Nothern Ireland is currently on a severe yellow weather warning for heavy rain.

The Met Office say: “Fine start on Friday before heavy and persistent rain spreads from the south, not clearing until later Saturday.

“Sunday should be drier and brighter but some showers. Windy on Saturday.”
