Storm Hannah set to bring strong winds to Merseyside

Storm Hannah has been named by the Irish Met service and is set to bring severe weather to parts of the UK.

The deep area of low pressure named Hannah will bring strong winds and heavy rain.

The strongest of the winds are expected to hit overnight on Friday.

Winds of over 50 mph are expected to hit Merseyside overnight Friday and into Saturday morning.

The Met Office say: “Cool, wet and windy on Saturday with gales and spells of heavy rain.

“Drier and brighter on Sunday, although still with a few showers possible. Further rain arriving on Monday.”

Temperatures will drop by 12C by the weekend as the warm weather is replaced by colder air.

Saturday will see the coldest of the weather when temperatures will only mange to reach 10C with rain in some places of Merseyside.
