Warm weather set to come to a dramatic end this week as thunderstorms forecast for Merseyside

Warm weather over Easter Weekend

Merseyside has had its hottest day of the year and it’s been one of the warmest Easters on record for the country.

Parks and beaches were packed right across Merseyside during Easter Weekend as people made the most of the nice weather.

And there’s more to come during the start of this week as Monday and Tuesday will see further warm spells of sunshine with temperatures over 20C.

However, the Met Office expect that the warm weather will come to a dramatic thundery breakdown.

There’s a risk of thunderstorms and the return of rain through Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures will also take a hit and you may need a coat by the weekend as they will be a chilly 12C by Saturday.

The Met Offcie say: “Easter Monday will be mostly very warm and sunny. The sunshine will turn hazy by the evening though, perhaps with an isolated shower or two later. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

“Tuesday will be breezier, with hazy warm sunshine. Wednesday and Thursday will then become cooler and unsettled, with thunderstorms, hail and some gusty winds possible.”
