What will the weather be like for the Grand National festival at Aintree?

It’s that time of year again when we plan whether we need a brolly or not for the Grand National.

If you’re heading to Aintree on the Friday then you will need a brolly or coat.

Forecasters are predicting heavy showers throughout the first day.

Showers are forecast to end around 6pm, so if you’re heading out afterwards then it will be mostly dry.

The Met Office say: “Scattered showers across northeast Cumbria at first, otherwise dry, bright and cold with early frost.”

“Remaining dry and bright through much of the day, however rain will push up from the southwest later, locally heavy. Maximum temperature 11 °C.”
