Higher than normal temperatures will arrive over the weekend on Merseyside but so will the strong winds

Above average temperatures are set to arrive in time for the weekend.

The frosty mornings will stop over the weekend as milder air moves in over the country and replaces the northerly colder air.

This means that temperatures will be back into double figures of around 10C on Saturday and Sunday, which is 3C above normal for the time of year.

However, winds are set to pick up over the weekend, with gusts of over 40 mph forecast through the whole weekend.

This means that although it will be mild it won’t feel that way, especially by the coasts as wind chill temperatures will make the weather feel closer to 5C.

The Met Office say: “Saturday and Sunday will be similarly cloudy with some light rain at times, and becoming windy. Generally mild.”
