Emergency services rescue 5 people stuck in mud on Merseyside beach

Emergency services raced to a Merseyside beach on New Years Day to rescue 5 people trapped in mud.

RNLI, Coastguard teams and Merseyside fire and Rescue service all played a part in getting the 5 people to safety.

The incident took place at Crosby beach 1:52pm on Tuesday.

Crosby Coastguard said on facebook: “HM Coastguard Crosby were tasked this afternoon along with Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team to 5 people stuck in mud on Crosby Beach.

“Once on scene the team assisted RNLI Lifeguards North West & Merseyside Fire Service with the recovery / transport of the casualties to the care of North West Ambulance Service.”
