It’s been a while since we last saw snow on Christmas Day on Merseyside, so will it snow this year?
Forecaster meteogroup have released their long range forecast for Christmas.
And we can reveal that the forecast confirms that it WILL NOT be a white Christmas this year.
The only stuff falling out of the sky on Christmas Day is likely to be rain.
The forecast for Christmas Day points to a day with some sunny spells, however, rain is forecast to arrive during the evening making a wet end to Christmas Day 2018.
Temperatures are expected to be rather mild for the time of year to, with highs of 7C
A forecaster at BBC Weather said: “The most case is that we won’t see much change in the weather for the Christmas period.
“Broadly speaking, the weather is most likely to remain milder than normal for the time of year although temperatures should be nearer to normal than in the run up to Christmas.
“There will be a chance of showers and longer spells of rain and it could be cold enough in the north of the UK for there to be the chance of some snow, but this will mainly be on high ground in Scotland.
“A white Christmas looks pretty unlikely for most parts of the UK.”
