A multi-agency response was launched to rescue a person trapped in mud on a Wirral beach.
Coastguard teams from Wirral, Flint and Crosby responded to reports to reports of a person stuck waist deep in mud.
The incident happened at Leasowe Island, rear of Leasowe Castle on Thursday morning.

The casualty was eventually safely extracted by the Hovercraft Crew from RNLI Hoylake Lifeboat Station.
The person was taken back to the RNLI station where casualty care was given until the the arrival of an ambulance.
Hoylake RNLI advise that you stay clam, don’t move too much, spread your wieght and call 999 if ever trapped in mud.
