Thursday turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far as temperatures reached a scorching 35C in London.
Which turned out to be nearly a whole 10 degrees warmer than it was on Merseyside, where temperatures reached 26C.
Although the cooler temperatures across the region compared to the south, Merseyside basked in warm sunshine throughout Thursday.

And the warm weather is set continue though Friday, although there will be an increase in cloudy conditions.
As the weekend approaches the weather will cool down further with a risk of heavy thundery downpours.
The weekend will see highs of 20C with the threat of Thunderstorms on Saturday.
The Met Office say: “Feeling less hot. Some thunderstorms are likely on Saturday.
“Sunday will start dry but rain and strong winds are expected later. Drier and brighter on Monday with lighter winds.”
