Merseyside has experienced the hottest weather of 2018 this week as temperatures climbed to 28.8C.

The hot weather has lasted all week and there’s no sign of it ending any time soon.

Temperatures are expected to remain around a stuffy 27C through the weekend, with still no rain in the forecast.

The Met Office say it’s “staying largely dry, sunny and very warm for all parts of the region for the remainder of the weekend and into the start of next week.”

The dry weather could mean hosepipe bans in the near future as water supplies drop in the heat.

And the heatwave is expected to at least last for another week, as some forecasters suggest that we could be in for another MONTH of hot weather.

The Met Office monthly outlook predicts ‘a good deal of dry and settled weather across many parts of the UK through much of July with very warm or hot temperatures likely at times.’

Although the hot weather is forecast to continue, some areas may see thunderstorms break out at times through July as the heat continues.

The Met Office say: “The most likely scenario is that we will see a good deal of dry and settled weather across many parts of the UK through much of July with very warm or hot temperatures likely at times.

“However, there are some indications that in the north and west, more changeable conditions could bring cloudier skies, and possibly some wet and windy weather at times.

“There may also be some interludes of more unsettled, cooler conditions bringing some outbreaks of rain or showers across the rest of the UK, however these will be short lived with dry and fine weather likely for most of the time”.
