Emergency services raced to Vittoria Dock in Birkenhead at 3am on Sunday as a male was reported to be in the water.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Firefighters entered the water in water rescue equipment and pulled the male to safety.

Team tasked by HM Coastguard to a person in Vittoria Dock in Birkenhead.
The male was recovered by @MerseyFire Firefighters using rope access gear and handed over to @NWAmbulance Paramedics and taken to hospital.@MerseyPolice were also on scene. pic.twitter.com/m6LWGwuGzN

The male was recovered by Firefighters using rope access gear and handed over to North West Ambulance Service Paramedics and taken to hospital.
Wirral Coastguard teams were also called out to the incident but were stood down when Firefighters rescued the man.
