Video captures the moment Wirral RNLI teams rescue THREE people cut off by mud and water

This video captured the moment when RNLI teams rescued three people cut off by mud and water on a Merseyside beach.

Hoylake Hovercraft was requested by UK Coastguard to launch to three casualties cut off by the tide on Formby bank, north of Hightown pumping station at 8:57pm on Sunday night.

Coastguard Rescue Teams from Wirral and Crosby were also on scene and guided the hovercraft to the casualties’ location.

Once the hovercraft was on scene the three casualties were transported back to dry land and checked over by paramedics as they “were feeling the effects of cold”.

Wirral Coastguard said on their facebook page: “The casualties were taken aboard the hovercraft and landed at the slipway near to Crosby Coastguard Rescue Station to waiting Wirral Coastguard Rescue Officers and North West Ambulance Service Paramedics for a precautionary check due the casualties feeling the effects of cold.

“Once everyone was safely ashore, the team was able to stand down and return to station.

“If you see someone in trouble on the coast, dial 999 and ask for theCoastguard”.
