Wirral Coastguard have warned children and dog walkers to stay from the area near of the black pearl in New Brighton as a palm oil substance has washed up on the beach.

Although non-toxic to humans, parents with young children and dog walkers have been warned to stay away.

Dogs are often attracted to eating the substance, which can be fatal in extreme circumstances.

Palm Oil is seen as a scattering of pebble-sized lumps that are white/yellow and waxy in appearance.
