As a result of the current icy conditions, Arrowe Park Hospital has been dealing with an extremely severe water leak on the roof.
Two major plant pipes ruptured causing a considerable amount of water to cascade through to the third floor and further into the hospital building.
The leak could have had a severe impact to electrics, IT equipment and patient safety, so a decision was made to call a major internal incident, the hospital said.
The leak was eventually controlled and nor patients, staff or visitors were harmed.
