Person freed from New Brighton rocks during early morning rescue


Wirral coastguard were in action at New Brighton during the early hours of this morning.

A person became stranded when they got their foot stuck in the rocks near to the Floral Pavilion.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 1:53am on Wednesday morning to asses the person that was trapped in the rocks.

Along with the coastguard, Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were also on scene to assist in the rescue of the person.

Eventually the person was freed from the rocks and aided safely back to shore by Firefighters and Coastguard Rescue Officers, while MFRS marine unite provided safety cover from the tide.

The person was treated by North West Ambulance Service Paramedic for a precautionary check.
