Polar air is set to make a return this week, replacing the milder tropical air that brought temperatures of 15C to parts of the country over the weekend.
Some areas were warmer than Spain as the Met Office confirmed it was the warmest day of 2018 so far on Sunday.
However, colder polar air from the north will take over this week, meaning a drop in temperatures.

Monday will get off to another mild start, with the chance of some heavy showers across Merseyside.
As the week progresses temperatures will fall back down into single figures, with overnight temperatures dropping to 4C.
The Met Office: “Tuesday; a cold start then mostly dry but windy. Feeling cold with strong winds on Wednesday and Thursday with showers, some of which will be wintry, especially over high ground”.
