Temperatures didn’t climb above 3C throughout Sunday, as the country had its coldest night since 2016 on Saturday.
The freezing weather brought a light dusting of snow to some areas, with Liverpool City Centre seeing some flurries at times, thanks to colder arctic air from the north.
However, the colder air will give way to milder air from the west, meaning temperatures will be back into double figures by Tuesday.

The change in wind direction will also mean more unsettled weather could be on the cards, as weather fronts track across the Atlantic.
During the early hours of Wednesday heavy rain and strong winds will arrive, when gusts could reach 40mph.
