This dramatic footage filmed by one of our readers shows New Brighton taking a battering by Storm Eleanor.
50mph gusts battered our coasts sending huge waves over sea defences in New Brighton, flooding the roads around it.
The environment agency warned that flooding to properties in areas of Merseyside could occur, as high tide could produce large waves.
The threat from Storm Eleanor also forced Wirral Council to close parts of New Brighton and West Kirby promenades.
