If you’re heading to a party, setting off fireworks or just staying in, the weather plays a big part in letting the new year in.
The weather throughout New Years Eve is expected to be windy but with some sunny spells and a risk of rain.
Gusts of up to 40 mph are expected throughout New Years Eve and New Years Day as Storm Dylan moves over the country and as midnight approaches winds will still be strong.
As we countdown to 2018, temperatures will be at 7C with a mix of clear skies and cloud. It will also be dry.

The first day of 2018 will again see a mix of cloud, sunshine and rain, it will feel chilly too with temperatures around 7C.
The Met Office say: “Early rain and strong winds will clear away to the northeast to leave a mixture of sunny spells and blustery showers. Some of the showers wintry over the hills.
“New Year’s Day will see a mixture of sunshine and showers. Rain arrives from the west Tuesday, with some hill snow. Strong winds and blustery showers Wednesday”.
