Major emergency service response to search for person missing on Wirral beach

There was a huge response by emergency services today to look for a missing person.

Wirral Coastguard teams headed to West Kirby on Wirral to search the area on and around Hilbre Island alongside Merseyside Police.

Coastguard headed out to Hilbre Island with the North West Ambulance service to join Police officers in the hunt for the missing person.

As all agencies relocated to Hoylake Lifeboat Station for a multi-agency meeting, information was received that the person had been found safe inland, with this information all teams were able to stand down.
