Thousands of people headed down to the waterfront both on Wirral and Liverpool side.
New Brighton and the pier head in Liverpool were both packed with fireworks fans as the sky was lit up alongside a music soundtrack
Many people took to social media to hail the event a success as the fireworks were more view-able than last year and the music could be heard either side of the river mersey.
