Merseyside woke up to a dusting of frost and ice this Monday morning as over night temperatures dipped below zero degrees.

The freezing weather is set to continue this week on Merseyside as Arctic air continues to hold its grip.

Although overnight temperatures will warm up slightly during the week, daytime temperatures wont climb much above 10C, making it feel bitterly cold in the wind.

However, good news for those that will be out trick or treating on Halloween, the forecast is pointing to a cloudy but dry day.

But it will probably be worth wrapping up as temperatures will be on the chilly side.

Temperatures are predicted to be around 14C, but as the evening arrives temperatures will be around 11C.

The Met Offcie say: “Mostly cloudy on Wednesday with some spells of light rain.

“Turning drier and brighter but cooler on Thursday with light winds. Mostly dry on Friday, some rain or showers later”.
