The Harvest moon will rise over the skies of Merseyside tonight.
The harvest moon is when the first full moon rises closest to the autumn equinox.
The best time to see the harvest moon is around 7:40pm tonight when the moon will be at its brightest.
The name Harvest Moon comes from when farmers would need to start gathering in crops to prepare for the winter months. They used the bright light to extend the working day.

Viewing the harvest moon is obviously weather dependant and will be best seen when skies are clear.
And stargazers on Merseyside will be in luck, as most of the night is expected to be a cloudless clear night.
But be warned, if you’re heading out forecasters beleive that it could be one of the coldest nights of Autumn so far.
The Met Office say: “Occasional showers continuing overnight, although most will see dry night with lengthy clear spells.
“The winds will ease, allowing a chilly night for many, with a patchy grass frost possible”.
