RNLI West Kirby were called out to a mother and daughter cut off by the high rising tide at West Kirby.
Crews launched within 5 minutes of receiving the request and reached the casualties just 4 minutes later.
The mother and daughter were rapidly getting cold and one had a sore foot so were transported ashore within 3 minutes.
Following a medical examination the casualties were taken home.
Dave Henshaw, RNLI Launching Authority for West Kirby’s RNLI Lifeboat, says: “Even knowledgeable locals can get caught out by the varying speeds of the tides that are dependent upon tide height and weather.
“Always check tidal and weather forecasts before setting out, and carry appropriate clothing and refreshments.
“It is also wise to seek the advice of the RNLI Lifeguards if they are available.”
