Wirral Coastguard were called out to reports of a kite surfer in difficulty this afternoon, near to the Derby Pool in New Brighton.
Once on scene RNLI and Coastguard teams established a visual of the kite surfer through binoculars, who was now on a nearby sandbank.

The RNLI launched their jet ski to reach and speak to reach the male, to ensure he didn’t require medical attention.
Rescue teams spoke to the kite surfer and it was confirmed that he was safe and did not require assistance returning to shore.
New Brighton Lifeboat also launched to assist should they have been required.
