The rest of summer could be a washout on Merseyside as Met Office predict rain throughout most of August

The Met Office expect that rain could heavily feature throughout most of August on Merseyside.

Their long range forecast points to more rain falling across the region over the next few weeks, with the current mix of sunshine and heavy showers continuing through the month.

Further spells of wind and rain will affect Merseyside during the start of the month, while the South of the UK sees the best of the weather.

Temperatures will stay close to normal for August, but it will feel cooler during the rain and stronger winds.

Although the Met Office suggest that there could be a more generally settled period of weather towards the middle of the month, more heavy rain or showers are still likely.

As September nears the Met Office say: “a northwest-southeast split is probable, with the northwest seeing the most frequent wet weather, with the southeast seeing the best of the drier and brighter interludes”.
