Wirral Coastguard rescue person cut off by tide during an ‘extremely dangerous’ situation


Wirral Coastguard were called out to a person stranded on the rocks and cut off by the tide at Harrison Drive, New Brighton on Thursday night.

When the team arrived one person was stranded on the rocks surrounded by water.

The coastguard which described the situation as ‘extremely dangerous’ sent 2 Coastguard Officers along with Hoylake RNLI into the water to rescue the person.

With a crowd building on the beach and the tide coming in, the team cleared people off the beach for their own safety.

The casualty was brought to shore by Coastguard Rescue Officers and passed to awaiting North West Ambulance Service paramedics for assessment.
