Hundreds of people turned out for the event before the ship headed off for St Peter Port in Guernsey.
Queen Elizabeth is the second largest ship constructed for Cunard, exceeded only by Queen Mary 2, and is capable of carrying up to 2,092 passengers.
The ship visited Liverpool in May 2015 along with Queen Mary 2 & Queen Victoria ships to celebrate Cunard’s 175th anniversary.
