The week got off to a sunny start and there will be more sunshine through the week, but not before Merseyside gets a drenching on Tuesday.
A band of heavy rain will batter the region throughout most of Tuesday and it will feel cooler, but the weather is set to improve as the week progresses.

By midweek the weather will feel warmer, temperatures will be back to near 20C with plenty of sunny spells.
The rain is set to return on Friday and into the weekend but temperatures will still feel warm.

The Met Office say: “Wednesday will be dry, with sunny spells, and it will feel warm”.
“Some showers may return on Thursday and Friday but there will be sunny spells too”.
