Parts of UK shook by 4.4 earthquake

A earthquake, which registered at 4.4 magnitude, struck in the North Sea near Scotland yesterday.

Witnesses say the quake shook buildings, although no damage has been reported.

One resident of Kirkwall, in the Orkney Islands, said: “Very brief vibration of whole building. I am on the second floor”

People took to social mesia tonreport the quake, the @ShetlandWild Twitter account said: “We certainly felt this!”

Fair Isle Bird Obs said on Twitter: “We thought it was just the Warden falling off the sofa after a post-lunch nap, but there’s been a 4.8 magnitude earthquake in the North Sea!”
