The heatwave is over as temperatures have dropped by 10C today bringing a fresher feel to Merseyside


After a record heatwave that saw the hottest temperatures in 41 years and the longest spell of hot weather in over 20 years, the hot weather has finally come to an end.

Temperatures will have dropped by 10C today as fresher cloudier weather arrives from the west replaces the hot and humid weather.

This will come as welcome news for those that have had trouble sleeping recently as nights will be cooler too.

Daytime temperatures from today will average around 17C, which is 10C less than only yesterday, nighttime temps will be at a much cooler 13C.

The Met Office forecast reads: “It will be breezy with rain from the start on Friday, though brighter spells are possible later”.

“It will stay changeable and breezy over the weekend and cooler than recently”.
