The UK is about to see it’s longest spell of warm weather in over 20 years


If today’s temperature reaches above 30C, that will be the fifth consecutive day that 30C has been reached.

The last time we saw a June as sizzling as that was in 1995 and if temperatures reach above 33.9C, it will be the warmest June day since 1976.

The Met Office expect that both records could be broken, Merseyside is also predicted temperatures of at least 27C.

There is also a Met Office weather warning for heavy rain, as thunderstorms could batter the country.

The Met Office forecast for Wednesday reads: Wednesday will be hot and humid with sunny spells for many”.

“It will be cloudier than recent days with some heavy, thundery showers possible, especially through the afternoon”.
