Merseyside warned of flooding as Met Office issues severe weather warning

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for heavy rain throughout Monday and into Tuesday.

A large heavy band of rain is expected to run across the UK through Monday and into Tuesday, which could lead to some localised flooding.

The Met Office say that the rain has the potential to give 80 mm of rainfall in a few places during Monday.

A forecaster has said: “Heavy rain is expected across Wales and Northwest England on Monday, lasting into Tuesday morning.

“This will be persistent in some places with the potential for localised flooding along with disruption to some transport routes and more difficult driving conditions”.
