Wirral Coastguard called out to quickly rescue woman stuck in thick mud

Wirral coastguard were called out to rescue a woman stuck in mud on Thursday night.

Reports of a female stuck near to Dovepoint Slipway in Meols were received by the coastguard around 8:50pm.

Wirral Coastguard arrived on scene in a matter of minutes, with two mud technicians deployed onto the thick mud to carry out the rescue.

The Coastguard said: “Our Coastguard Rescue Officers train for this type of incident on a regular basis meaning the team were able to perform the rescue swiftly, safely and effectively.

“Once the person had been safely recovered back to shore, she was taken to our station and kept warm and comfortable until North West Ambulance Service arrived to carry out further checks.

“The casualty was then conveyed to Arrowe Park Hospital and we wish her a full recovery.
