It is a new month and summer is approaching, so we tae a look at what the Met Office expect the weather to be like.
The first two weeks of May will see a good deal of dry weather with sunny spells, with temperatures of up to 16C possible.
However, we are expected to see a change to more unsettled and colder conditions from Tuesday 9 May onwards, with gales and risk of overnight frost.
As we head into the middle of May, it is more likely that drier than average conditions will continue, with the possibility of some occasional wetter interludes at times.
Towards the end of the month, we may see high pressure becoming established to the east, with a warmer southerly flow possibly developing.
